Biography
Ahmad Khalil received Ph.D. in Cytogenetics from The Ohio State University (USA) in 1987. Promoted to professorship in 2000. Chaired the Department of Biological Sciences at Yarmouk University (Jordan) 2001-2003. Founded Biotechnology M. Sc. Program in 2003. In Arabic, authored a book in Radiation Biology, a unit in Molecular Biology, a chapter in Genetics. Wrote 35 single-authored scientific articles of general interest. Published 45 research papers in peer-reviewed International Journals. Expert in the use of in vivo and in vitro experimental test systems for assessment of health impact of potentially hazardous substances. Developed expertise in investigating the biology of prostate cancer in collaboration with King Abduallah Hospital at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). Received several awards and fellowships and is active reviewer and member in Editorial Board of several local, regional and International Journals. Participated/chaired and gave talks in more than 40 conferences, training courses and workshops world-wide.
